This is the second year that teachers and students from Maris Stella High School (Primary) of Singapore came to visit our school. We held a welcoming ceremony at the assembly hall. Students from both schools gave wonderful performances on stage.
這是新加坡海星中學附小第二度來訪。 我們在禮堂舉行了歡迎儀式，兩校學生上台做了一場精彩的才藝表演。
The main theme of this year’s visit was Environmental Education. They learned about our environmental protection efforts — how trash got transformed into arts and crafts and also how we recycle our daily trash.
今年他們參訪的主要議題是環境教育。他們認識了我們為環境保護而做的努力，例如將垃圾再利用製作成美勞作品，以及我們在日常生活中如何做好環保回收工作。
The Singapore students were placed in ten 4th and 5th grade classes. They made friends, talked about similarities and differences between the two shools, participated in sports activities and also played games and had lunch with our students.
新加坡小朋友們被安排在四、五年級十個班級隨班上課。他們和我們的學童成為朋友，分享兩校的相同及相異之處，參與體育活動，還和小朋友一起玩遊戲及一起享用午餐。
This is a great opportunity for our students to have first-hand experience interacting with people from another country. They were all very excited and tried their best to make these Singapore friends feel welcome. And they found that although there are some differences, they are really not that different.
這是個讓我們的小朋友與來自他國的人第一手接觸及互動的好機會。小朋友們都非常興奮，也努力想讓來自新加坡的朋友有賓至如歸的感受。
他們也發現，雖然彼此有些小小的差異，實際上大家並沒有太大的不同。
Maris Stella''s student Tsai Chin-howe prepared a speech before they left. He expressed their gratitude for our warm reception and great learning experiences. He also invited our students to visit their school and to further the friendship.
三天活動結束時，海星附小的蔡君豪小朋友準備了一份講稿，他謝謝我們的熱情招待及寶貴的學習經驗，更邀請本校師生到海星附小去做進一步的交流。
In addition to the student interaction, teachers from Maris Stella also attended the "Hualien Teacher's Professional Development Evaluation Workshop" hosted by our shcool on Nov. 15. Teachers from the two countries shared experiences and thoughts and learned from one another.
除了小朋友的互動之外，海星附小的老師們還參加了11月15日本校主辦的「花蓮縣教師專業發展評鑑工作會議」。兩國的教師們分享經驗與想法，彼此相互學習。
